We had bought football tickets to watch Barcelona play Espanyol before we arrived in Barcelona and Rob had been really looking forward to it all week! We had paid €65 for our tickets and were about 4 rows back from the touchline, behind the goal – great seats. There were loads of ticket touts around the grounds all week in the lead up to the match  and the stadium boasts it can seat 98,000 so I think we would’ve easily  got tickets if we hadn’t pre-booked, although the seats may not have been so good.

The game was a fast paced local derby and ended 1-0 Barcelona. It was great to see Messi play… we were guilty of chanting “messi, messi, messi, messi, gooooooallllll e goooooeaaallll e goooaaaallll e messssiiiii goallllll!!!!” every time he had the ball (just YouTube messi goal crazy commentator)!
