Scuba diving on Derawan, Kakaban and Sangalaki islands.

We spent 4 days diving with Scuba Junkie Sangalaki on Indonesian Borneo’s “Derawan islands” and I can’t even begin to express how special this area is. I love following their story on social media as they are always posting about new wildlife they have encountered; from hammerheads and oceanic mantas, to dugongs and pygmy seahorses.

Why planning a trip to Borneo has been our biggest challenge to date.

We weren’t only excited to go to Kakaban for the incredible diving; this island also boasts one of the world’s most unique safety stops; the stingless jellyfish lake. After battling through the rain for an hour we made it to the magnificent Kakaban island. Despite the choppy seas, our first dive here was absolutely incredible
